The Boulder High Panthers are heating up in Arizona.
Coming into Friday's matchup riding a two-game winning streak, Boulder left the field with three straight wins after a commanding 13-3 victory over Mountain Pointe. It was the Panthers' most complete and dominant performance of the young season and another sign that the lineup is finding its rhythm at the plate.
After Mountain Pointe jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, Boulder stayed patient and then delivered the knockout punch in the third. The Panthers exploded for 11 runs in the inning, stringing together timely hits, aggressive baserunning, and steady pressure that the Pride defense simply could not contain.
Junior Sam Skubic once again provided a spark, launching a home run and finishing 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Senior Miles Love continued his strong tournament play, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs scored, and an RBI, setting the tone at the top of the order.
The offense stayed relentless throughout the game. Senior Toby Schoenfeld delivered a big day at the plate with two hits and three RBIs, while Connor Bagnall and Finn Torvik each added extra-base hits to keep the momentum rolling. In total, Boulder collected 10 hits, drew four walks, and posted an impressive .519 on-base percentage, continuing a steady upward trend in plate discipline over the last three games.
On the mound, the Panthers got a solid team effort. Bennett Levinson earned the win, working three innings and striking out three, while Chance Gauss came in to shut the door with a clean inning in relief. The defense backed them up with steady play in the field, committing just one error while turning routine plays into quick outs.
With the win, Boulder improves to 3-1 on their Arizona spring break trip and has now captured three wins in two days, building confidence and momentum as the season gets underway.
The Panthers will wrap up their four-game Arizona swing on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM when they take on the Skyridge Falcons (Lehi, Utah) in the tournament finale.
