The Boulder High Panthers put together one of their most complete games of the season Tuesday afternoon, cruising to a 13-3 win over Mountain Range in six innings at Scott Carpenter Park. Behind sharp pitching, timely hitting, and aggressive base running, Boulder secured the victory by mercy rule and improved to 2-5 on the year.
Big Fourth Inning Blows It Open
After a scoreless start, Boulder broke through in the bottom of the third. Finn Torvik ripped a double down the left field line and Maks Matheson followed with a single to center, giving the Panthers a 2-0 lead.

But it was the fourth inning where Boulder broke things wide open. The Panthers sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs on five hits and two walks.
Highlights from the inning:
• Torvik was hit by a pitch to drive in a run
• Matheson added a sacrifice fly
• Sam Skubic singled in a run
• Chance Gauss drew a bases-loaded walk
• Toby Schoenfeld punched a single into the outfield to plate two
• Cole Vangelis capped the rally with an RBI double
The seven-run frame gave Boulder a commanding 9-1 lead.
Torvik Shines on the Mound
Torvik did more than produce at the plate — he also gave the Panthers a quality start on the hill. The right-hander tossed five strong innings, allowing no earned runs and just five hits, while striking out seven and walking none.
Sophomore Kai Paradise came in to close it out and worked a clean sixth inning with two strikeouts.
