The Boulder High School girls' soccer team started their season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Arvada West on March 7, 2025, at Recht Field.
First Half:
On a chilly afternoon in Boulder, both teams played evenly, with Boulder maintaining a slight edge in possession. Midway through the half, junior Zoe Silver was fouled in the penalty box, leading to a successful penalty kick by junior Elle Ceres. Boulder took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Second Half:
Kiri Fogarty-Sears
In the middle of the second half, senior Mia DeJohn set up freshman Kiri Fogarty-Sears, who scored her first varsity goal in her high school debut, extending Boulder's lead to 2-0. The Panthers controlled the game from there. However, in the final moments, Arvada West was awarded a quick corner kick, which they converted, making the final score 2-1 in favor of Boulder.
