BOULDER — Senior Night is always a special evening, and Tuesday was no exception at Recht Field as Boulder High girls soccer honored a standout senior class with a 4–0 win over Brighton in the final regular season match of the year.
As is tradition, Coach Carlos Real started every senior, allowing them one final opportunity to take the field where they've built so many memories over their high school careers. The energy was high, the crowd was loud, and the Panthers delivered a strong performance from start to finish.
Early Nerves, Then Control
Brighton came out with intensity in the opening 10–15 minutes, pressing high and probing Boulder's back line. Although their record didn't reflect it, the Bulldogs showed skill and energy early on. Boulder, however, absorbed the pressure and found its rhythm midway through the half.
Mia DeJohn
Once composed, the Panthers began dominating possession and pinning Brighton in their own half. At the 18-minute mark, Boulder was awarded a free kick just outside the top of the box. Mia DeJohn stepped up and curled a precise strike over the wall and past the keeper to give Boulder a 1–0 lead.
The momentum continued as Boulder earned several consecutive corner kicks. With just under 10 minutes left in the half, DeJohn sent a driven ball to the far post, where Neva Woodson met it with a low, powerful header into the corner of the net to make it 2–0.

The Panthers continued to control the tempo through the remainder of the half, while Brighton struggled to create chances. The half ended 2–0, with the Bulldogs still without a shot on goal.
Second-Half Spark
Coach Real again started all the seniors to open the second half, giving them one more memorable run together. The early moments were a bit choppy, with both teams trading possession, but neither side finding a rhythm.
Kiri Fogarty-Sears
That changed around the 50th minute when DeJohn launched a long ball from the back toward Kiri Fogarty-Sears, who received it 45 yards out on the right wing. Fogarty-Sears cut centrally and fired a shot from 35 yards that ricocheted off the crossbar, hit the back of the keeper, and deflected into the net. Boulder led 3–0.
That goal energized the Panthers, who began to reassert control. Shortly after, Maddy Moore was fouled at the top of the 18, and Ane Mackey stepped up to take the direct kick. The freshman delivered a missile toward the top left corner, which deflected off a Brighton defender's head and into the net to make it 4–0.

Boulder closed out the match by stifling Brighton's few remaining pushes forward. The Bulldogs failed to register a shot on goal all night, while the Panthers capped off a clean, composed performance on both ends of the field.
