Boulder High Girls Soccer earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Horizon on Tuesday night at home. The match was closely contested, but a first-half goal from Zoe Silver proved to be the difference. With the win, the Panthers improve their record to 2-0.
The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when freshman Kiri Fogarty-Sears delivered a well-placed assist to Silver, who slotted the ball past the keeper.
Boulder had a slight edge in possession and did well to control the tempo, limiting Horizon to just five shots on target. Maisie Creamer, in goal for all 80 minutes, was calm and assured, keeping a clean sheet with several key stops.
Horizon came into the match 1-0 on the season, but Boulder's victory now takes their head-to-head record to 11-2-2 across the last 15 meetings, dating back to 2009.
A disciplined defensive display ensured the Panthers picked up a valuable win. They now turn their attention to their next game on March 13, away to Erie High School at 6:00 PM.
