Panthers Dominate Summit High, 96-37, to Even Record at 2-2

Player of the game Cole Morrow

The Boulder High School Panthers Boys Basketball team evened their record at 2-2 with a commanding 96-37 victory over Summit High School on Monday night. Boulder led from the opening tip-off, relying on smothering defense and unselfish ball movement to dismantle Summit in easy fashion.

Relentless Pressure from the Start

Boulder's full-court and three-quarter press set the tone early, forcing turnovers and creating easy transition opportunities. The Panthers raced to a 33-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, holding a 54-17 advantage at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the game was well out of reach at 83-23.

Balanced Team Effort

The Panthers displayed their depth, with 10 players contributing to the scoring. Senior guard and Player of the Game Cole Morrow spearheaded the effort with a stellar performance, scoring 31 points while adding six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. His combination of three-point shooting (3-for-7) and aggressive play in the paint kept Summit on their heels throughout the game.

Depth and Preparation for a Tough Week

The significant margin allowed Coach Matt Smith to rotate his roster extensively, giving bench players valuable minutes while resting the starters. With three games in six days as part of the Fairview Tournament, the Panthers capitalized on the opportunity to distribute playing time and build chemistry.
