Oder’s 30 Lift Girls Basketball Past Fairview in Overtime Classic

Lexi Oder Leads Boulder with 30

On Thursday night at Boulder High School, the Boulder Panthers and Fairview Knights delivered everything fans expect from the city's biggest rivalry and then some. In a game that swung wildly until the final horn, Boulder pulled out a thrilling 50–43 overtime victory behind a career night from junior Lexi Oder and clutch late plays from Sabrina Maiorca.

Oder was unstoppable all night, pouring in a career-high 30 points and carrying the Panthers through every momentum shift. Time and again, when Boulder needed a bucket, Oder delivered. And yet, the game's defining moment came when things briefly went wrong.

Trailing by two in the final seconds of regulation, Oder stepped to the free throw line with a chance to tie. Both shots missed. But the play was not over.

Maiorca crashed the glass, secured the offensive rebound, and was fouled immediately. With just 2.9 seconds left, she calmly knocked down both free throws to tie the game and send it to overtime, stunning the Fairview crowd and igniting the Boulder bench.

From there, the Panthers took control.

Oder opened overtime with the first basket, and Boulder's defense locked in. Fairview was held without a field goal in the extra period, as the Panthers turned defensive stops into points and energy. What had been a tense back-and-forth rivalry game quickly tilted Boulder's way.

Fairview had its chances earlier. Olivia Soto led the Knights with 19 points and buried a deep three at the third-quarter buzzer to swing momentum. Vienna Dai provided a spark off the bench with five fourth-quarter points, and Chloe Hickory finished with 12, including a late three that briefly pushed the Fairview lead to six.

But every push was met by Oder.

Back-to-back three-pointers late in the fourth brought Boulder back into it, followed by two critical free throws that trimmed the deficit to one. Even after Fairview edged ahead again, the Panthers never lost belief, setting the stage for the chaotic final seconds and the dramatic overtime finish.

Boulder's defensive intensity proved to be the difference when it mattered most. Aggressive on the ball, active in passing lanes, and relentless on the glass, the Panthers closed the door in overtime to secure another statement win over their crosstown rival.

The victory marks Boulder's fourth straight win over Fairview and adds another memorable chapter to one of Colorado's most heated high school rivalries.

For one night, though, this one belonged to Lexi Oder, whose 30-point performance powered the Panthers and reminded everyone why rivalry games at Boulder High always feel bigger than the scoreboard.
