The Boulder Panthers claimed a hard-fought 51-40 victory over the Mountain Range Mustangs on Tuesday night, improving to 6-6 overall and maintaining their undefeated record (3-0) in the Rocky Mountain Conference. Strong performances on both ends of the floor and a dominant first half propelled the Panthers to the win, even as they weathered a third-quarter challenge.
First Half: Setting the Tone
Boulder controlled the game early, jumping out to a 12-3 lead in the first quarter behind stifling defense and efficient shooting. By halftime, the Panthers had extended their advantage to 30-12, with senior Megan Matthews and sophomore Lexi Oder leading the charge. Matthews finished the game with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Oder added a game-high 19 points and 8 rebounds.

Third Quarter: Responding to Pressure
After halftime, Mountain Range deployed a full-court press that disrupted Boulder's rhythm, forcing turnovers and allowing the Mustangs to close the gap with an 18-10 third quarter. Despite the pressure, the Panthers leaned on their defense and rebounding to maintain control. Sophomore Remi Kingdom contributed 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, providing crucial energy during this stretch.
Final Frame: Finishing Strong
In the fourth quarter, Boulder regrouped and outscored Mountain Range 11-10 to secure the win. The team's balanced attack, led by Oder and Matthews, along with key defensive plays from senior Neva Woodson (4 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 assists), ensured the Panthers remained in control until the final buzzer.
