COLORADO SPRINGS — The Boulder Panthers varsity lacrosse team continued their so-called "revenge tour" on Wednesday night with a statement win, defeating No. 27-ranked Pine Creek 13–10 at D20 Stadium.
After three straight losses to Pine Creek—two of them decided by just one goal—Boulder finally got the better of the Eagles in a game that carried both playoff implications and emotional weight.
This marks the Panthers' fifth win this season over a team that beat them last year, highlighting a season defined by toughness, progress, and redemption.
Panthers Rally After Early Hole
The night didn't start in Boulder's favor. Pine Creek struck first and took an early 2–0 lead in the first quarter. But the Panthers responded in a big way, rattling off seven straight goals to flip the momentum. Junior midfielder Pierce Dayton led the charge with a first-half hat trick, firing up the sideline and helping Boulder take control.
Pine Creek stopped the run with a pair of late second-quarter goals, but Boulder held firm with a 7–4 lead at halftime.
Second-Half Spark and Strong Finish
Boulder wasted no time in the second half. Just seconds into the third quarter, Luke Nathan delivered a sharp cross-crease pass to Quinton Hoverstock, who buried a quick-stick goal to open the scoring.
That play set the tone for the rest of the quarter. The Panthers continued to push and extended their lead to 12–7 by the end of the third. A goal early in the fourth made it 13–7, and Boulder looked in control. But Pine Creek wouldn't go away quietly, scoring three unanswered goals to close the gap.
In the final minutes, Boulder's defense held strong. Junior goalie Toby Benham came up with key stops, finishing with 11 saves. The Panthers' aggressive defensive play throughout the game kept Pine Creek from finding a consistent rhythm.
