Boulder Field Hockey Secures Thrilling 2-1 Victory Over Poudre with Last-Second Goal
In a heart-stopping finish, Boulder High School's varsity field hockey team edged out Poudre 2-1 in a closely contested match, with the game-winning goal coming in the final moments. The goal was set up by a brilliant assist from Courtney Windt, sealing the team's hard-earned victory.
The match was tight from the start, with both teams battling evenly across the field. Boulder took the lead in the third quarter when Marley Farrior found the back of the net after an assist from Oakley Knauss, breaking the deadlock. Just two minutes later, Poudre responded with a goal of their own, leveling the score at 1-1.
With time ticking away and the game seemingly headed for overtime, Layne, who had just returned from a week off, stepped up to break the tie in the dying seconds, earning her the Player of the Game honor.
