Boulder Boys Tennis Edges Broomfield 4-3 in Tight Contest, Improving to 8-1
The Boulder High School boys tennis team secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Broomfield on Tuesday, extending their season record to 8-1. The match, held at Broomfield High School, featured a series of competitive showdowns, with Boulder prevailing thanks to clutch performances in singles and doubles play.
Key Singles Wins Propel Boulder:
At No. 1 singles, senior Andre Parham was in a close battle with Broomfield's Ryder Pierce. Pierce took the first set 6-3 and was leading 3-2 in the second when he was forced to withdraw due to injury, giving Parham the win.
In No. 2 singles, senior Blake Curl delivered a dominant performance, dispatching Alex Patrick with ease in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Curl's consistent and powerful baseline game left Patrick with few answers throughout the match.
No. 3 singles was a thriller, as junior Bruno Damrauer came from behind to defeat Broomfield freshman Blake Heller. After dropping the first set 4-6, Damrauer rallied to take the next two sets 6-1, 6-4, clinching a crucial point for Boulder.
Doubles Matches:
In doubles play, Broomfield claimed victories in the No. 1 and No. 4 spots, while Boulder took the win at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 doubles, Boulder's pair of Patrick Harvey and Riley Kenny started strong, winning the first set 6-2. However, Broomfield's duo of Henry Vanderberg and Ozzie McDonald mounted a comeback, taking the next two sets 6-4, 6-2.
Boulder's No. 2 doubles team of Cooper Fagean and Ian Everson secured a critical point, defeating Chris Ho and Jeric Silvestri in three sets. After winning the first set 6-3, the Boulder duo dropped the second 4-6, but they rallied in the third to claim a 6-2 victory and another key point for the Panthers.
Broomfield's No. 3 doubles team of Oliver Ball and Kirby Pierce was leading 6-4, 4-3 when Boulder had to retire due to injury, giving Broomfield the point. At No. 4 doubles, Tanner Keegan and Jackson Saddoris of Broomfield defeated Boulder's Romain Dell'Era and Amitai Sebba in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

With the 4-3 victory over Broomfield, Boulder moves to 8-1 on the season. The Panthers are now looking forward to the Niwot Tournament on September 26 and 27 at Niwot High School, where they'll aim to continue their strong form.
