Boulder High School Boys Tennis continued their winning ways with a solid 7-0 victory over Monarch on September 12th, improving their record to 7-1. The Panthers put together an impressive team performance, winning several tight matches to secure the sweep.
Singles Highlights
At 1 Singles, Andre Parham (Sr.) earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Monarch's Troy Gomez. Parham's consistent groundstrokes and control of rallies were key to his win, earning him one of the Players of the Match honors. Parham's performance capped off an excellent season, leading to his recognition as Boulder's Player of the Year.
At 2 Singles, Blake Curl (Sr.) battled back from a set down to beat Isaac Anderson (Jr.) 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (15-13). Curl's determination to fight through a long tiebreaker earned him another Player of the Match nod.
Bruno Damrauer (Jr.) dominated his 3 Singles match, winning 6-1, 6-3, putting Boulder in control early on.
Doubles Success
The doubles teams were sharp across the board. At 1 Doubles, Riley Kenny (Sr.) and Patrick Harvey (Jr.) won two hard-fought tiebreakers, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (8-6), showing strong net play and chemistry throughout the match.
At 2 Doubles, Ian Everson (Sr.) and Cooper Fagean (So.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win, with Everson's steady play at the net earning him a Player of the Match award.
In 3 Doubles, Calvin Harvey (So.) and his partner rallied after dropping the first set, winning 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) to secure the comeback.
Finally, at 4 Doubles, Romain Dell'Era (So.) and Amitai Sebba (So.) came out on top in a competitive match, winning 7-5, 6-4.
Looking Ahead
With this win, Boulder improves to 7-1 and looks to keep their momentum going into their next match against Broomfield (3-3) on September 17th at 4:00 PM.
