Boulder Field Hockey Splits Results with Grandview and Mountain Vista
Boulder Field Hockey earned a 5-1 victory over Grandview on October 8, followed by a hard-fought 2-0 loss to Mountain Vista on October 10. The Panthers showed off both their offensive depth and defensive toughness across the two matches.
In the Grandview matchup, Oakley Knauss (Sr.) led the charge with two goals, earning Player of the Game honors. Tenley Layne (Jr.) contributed a goal and an assist, while Marley Farrior (Sr.) and Courtney Windt (Jr.) each added a goal to round out the scoring. The team totaled 15 points from five goals and five assists. Assists also came from PK Schmidt (So.), Lyla Jolly (Jr.), and Courtney Windt (Jr.), with multiple players contributing to the Boulder offense throughout the match.
In their next match, the Panthers faced Mountain Vista, one of the top teams in the state. Goalie Katie Ryan (Sr.) stood strong in net, recording 18 saves, including several impressive stops, with one amazing split save that kept Boulder in the game. Ryan's stand out performance earned her Player of the Game. Despite the defensive effort, Mountain Vista found the net twice, resulting in a 2-0 loss for Boulder.
The Panthers managed four shots on goal against Mountain Vista, with two coming from Tenley Layne, and one each from Marley Farrior and Courtney Windt. Although they couldn't find the breakthrough, the team fought hard throughout the match, energized by the support of local youth players from the Bears, who came to cheer them on.
