The Boulder High School girls tennis team notched a solid 5-2 victory over Niwot High School on Tuesday that showcased the Panthers' depth across the lineup.
The match started with an automatic win at No. 1 singles, where Tessa Botha secured the point after Niwot was forced to forfeit. From there, Boulder built momentum with confident play in both singles and doubles.
At No. 2 singles, Jessie LeBlang dominated with a 6-0, 6-2 win, followed by a strong performance at No. 3 singles from Shelby Rosato, who took the match 6-2, 6-3 to give Boulder a quick 3-0 lead.
Niwot claimed the top doubles court, as Amiya Vashi and Sara Ishaq fell 1-6, 2-6 at No. 1 doubles. But Boulder responded with three hard-fought performances across the remaining doubles matches.
At No. 2 doubles, Zoe Rhodes-Wolin and Ryler Horansky powered through their match with a 6-4, 6-2 win. Maddie Gebhardt and Nuri Russell battled through three tough sets at No. 3 doubles to clinch a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory.
The No. 4 doubles team of Gracie Desmouise and Alex Mounce played a thrilling back-and-forth match but came up just short in a 6-6 (5-7), 6-3, 5-10 tiebreak loss.
With the win, Boulder improves its record and continues to build momentum midseason.
The Panthers are back in action on Thursday, April 10 at Centennial Middle School, where they'll take on Legacy High School.
