Boulder High School's girls' tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Centaurus on Wednesday in an away match at Centaurus High School. The Panthers were strong in singles and doubles play, winning five of seven matches.
Botha Dominates at No. 1 Singles
Tessa Botha (Jr.) set the tone for Boulder with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles, overpowering her opponent with precise shot placement and consistent play. Jessie LeBlang (Jr.) was just as dominant at No. 2 singles, securing a 6-0, 6-0 win to give Boulder early control of the match.
Shelby Rosato (Jr.) battled at No. 2 singles, taking a competitive first set before falling 6-4, 6-0 in a tough matchup.
Doubles Teams Step Up
Boulder's doubles teams proved to be the difference, claiming three victories to seal the team win.
• No. 1 doubles duo Alex Mounce (Jr.) and Sara Ishaq (Sr.) edged out their opponents with clutch play in big moments, winning 7-5, 7-5.
• No. 2 doubles team Ryler Horansky (So.) and Zoe Rhodes-Wolin (Jr.) controlled their match with a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
• No. 3 doubles team Maddie Gebhardt (Sr.) and Nuri Russell (Fr.) played with confidence, securing a 6-2, 6-2 win.
Centaurus picked up a point at No. 4 doubles, where Gracie DesMoulins (Sr.) and Brooklyn Rhodes (Jr.) fought hard but came up short in a 7-5, 6-4 match.
