Boulder High School boys' swimming competed well in a tri-meet against Horizon and Fairview at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center on March 11. The Panthers put together a solid team effort, earning strong individual performances and relay finishes throughout the night.
Meet Highlights
- Lucas Russack (Jr.) had a strong swim in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing 4th with a time of 1:58.64. He also placed 8th in the 100-yard freestyle (53.85).
- Grant McCuen (Jr.) was one of Boulder's top sprinters, taking 4th place in the 50-yard freestyle (23.57) and 5th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.69).
- Tristan Maiorino (Jr.) swam well in distance events, finishing 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.59) and 7th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.60).
- Owen Gallagher (Jr.) competed in multiple events, placing 9th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.59) and swimming on relay teams.
- Jonah Ellis-Rissler (Sr.) finished 9th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.39) and competed in the 200-yard medley relay.
Relay Performances
Boulder's relay teams showed depth, with multiple strong swims:
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Jonah Ellis-Rissler, Gray Lewis, Grant McCuen, and Owen Gallagher placed 4th (1:51.28).
- The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lucas Russack, Tristan Maiorino, Owen Gallagher, and Gray Lewis finished 4th (1:40.48).
- In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Tristan Maiorino, Wyatt Henson, Lucas Russack, and Grant McCuen took 4th (3:41.20).
Looking Ahead
The Panthers continue to show improvement with every meet. With strong swims from both veteran leaders and younger swimmers, Boulder looks to keep building momentum as the season progresses.
