Football Beats Silver Creek 28-14

Boulder High Football delivered a much-needed victory on Friday night, securing their first home win in over a year with a 28-14 win over Silver Creek at Recht Field. The victory marked a significant moment for second-year head coach Jesse Jones, who earned his first win after last season's difficult, winless campaign. In front of over 400 excited fans, Boulder jumped out to an early lead and held on for the win in a game that showcased the Panthers' progress and resilience.

First Half: Boulder Starts Strong

Boulder came out firing, quickly jumping to a 21-0 lead in the first half. Quarterback Henry Sharpe led the charge commanding an effective running game and and connecting with his receivers to move the offense downfield. One of Boulder's touchdowns came from the defense, which capitalized on a Silver Creek fumble with a scoop and score, adding to their early dominance.

Despite the strong start, Silver Creek rallied late in the first half, scoring twice to close the gap to 21-14 by halftime. Boulder's defense, led by Alejandro Floripe, tightened up, but the late push from Silver Creek made for a tense moment going into the locker room.

Second Half: Boulder's Defense Locks Down

The second half was all about defense for Boulder. They shut out Silver Creek, preventing any further scoring opportunities. Boulder's defense held firm, forcing Silver Creek into tough situations and shutting down their offensive momentum. Offensively, Boulder added one more touchdown in the second half, cementing their 28-14 lead.

A Turnaround Moment for the Panthers

For Coach Jesse Jones and the Panthers, this win represents a turning point. After a difficult 2023 season, the 28-14 victory over Silver Creek shows that the team is heading in the right direction. Jones and his players are hopeful this win will be the start of a new chapter for Boulder Football, one that is focused on growth, improvement, and more wins to come.

Looking Ahead

With the win, Boulder improves to 1-1 on the season and will be looking to continue their success next Friday when the Panthers take on Fairview at 5:30 PM at Recht Field . Panther fans, come out and show your support as Boulder builds on this long-awaited victory!
