On Election Night, when most eyes will be on the ballot results, another showdown will take center stage at Boulder High School: the #2 Boulder Panthers will face off against the #18 Horizon Hawks in the 5A Boys Soccer State Championship Sweet 16. While the nation votes, these two teams will battle it out on the field to keep their championship hopes alive. With Boulder on a nine-game home winning streak and Horizon on a four-game road winning streak, one streak will end—make sure to be there at 7:00 PM on November 5th!
Boulder comes into the match hungry for more after a strong 8-0 win over Fountain-Fort Carson last Wednesday. The Panthers' defense has been rock solid, not giving up a goal in their last seven games. On offense six different players contributed on the score line.
Xander Sevian led the way with a hat trick, showing just how dangerous Boulder's attack can be.
Horizon, meanwhile, had a tough battle against Heritage, ending in a 1-1 draw before winning the penalty shootout 4-1. The Hawks' ability to stay calm under pressure and their recent road form make them a tough out.
Boulder's unbeaten record now stands at 15-0-1, and they are ready to defend their home turf with the full backing of the Panther Nation. The Panthers have shown unmatched strength and teamwork all season and will be looking to extend their winning streak and secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Horizon may be confident, but Boulder is determined to show why they are one of the top teams in the state. Come out and support the Panthers as they aim to keep their championship dreams alive.
