Boulder High's standout striker Xander Sevian has officially capped off his prep career with one of the state's most prestigious honors—Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year for boys soccer.
Sevian leaves an indelible mark on the Panthers program, not only with his impressive statistics but also as a unifying force on a team that made a deep postseason run. He finished the 2024 season with 24 goals and 26 assists, recording points in 13 of Boulder's 19 games. His contributions powered the Panthers to the Class 5A state semifinals, where they fell to eventual runner-up Broomfield.

The award, established in 1985, recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement, and exemplary character. Sevian now joins an elite list of past honorees from Boulder and Broomfield counties, including Boulder's own Cameron Gerber (2023) and Quinn Liebmann (2015), as well as Fairview's Shane O'Neill (2012) and Broomfield's Marcus Von (2024) and Porter Milner (2016).
His talent was evident from the start. Sevian burst onto the scene as a freshman, setting Boulder's freshman scoring record before leaving the program for his junior year to play in MLS Next, the country's top youth development league tied to Major League Soccer. The experience sharpened his skills and deepened his commitment.
But it wasn't just his goals that set him apart—it was the energy he brought to "La Familia," Boulder's tight-knit soccer brotherhood. Returning to the team for his senior year, Sevian didn't just raise the level of play. He raised the standard. Coaches and teammates alike saw a player who pushed himself with extra reps, solo drills, and constant refinement, often training in his backyard, at local fields, or in his basement.

Head coach Hardy Kalisher knew the impact Sevian would make before the season even kicked off. His presence alone lifted the squad, and by year's end, his leadership had become as valuable as his scoring prowess. With nearly every player tryout greeted by Sevian's encouragement, his influence extended far beyond the pitch.
His decorated high school career also includes MVP honors at the 2023 High School All-American Game and a national ranking as the fifth-best recruit in the country. Now, Sevian heads to Clemson University—two-time national champions in the last five years—where he'll look to make his mark at the Division I level.
As he departs Boulder, Sevian leaves behind a legacy built on talent, tenacity, and team-first leadership. The Panthers faithful won't soon forget No. 11's final act.
