The Boulder High wrestling team competed in the 2025 Niwot Wrestling Invitational on January 4 and the Panthers looked to get back into the season after a long winter break.  After some mixed results for the Panthers throughout the weight classes, Isaac Wing took home 3rd place in his.

106 lbs: Ollie Reynolds 
Freshman Ollie Reynolds was defeated in both of his matches.  His first match was against Elijah Vigil (Northglenn, 18-6), where he lost by fall at 3:21.  He lost to Miles Filkins (Niwot, 3-3) at 0:46.

113 lbs: Gus Morgan
Freshman Gus Morgan received a bye and then was defeated in the quarterfinal by Jacob Molina (Fort Morgan, 14-5),  Ashten Mercado-lovell (Vista Ridge, 3-8) won by decision in the Consolation Round 2. 

120 lbs:  Milo Mowen
Freshman Milo Mowen was defeated in his first match by Isaiah Harrison (Mountain View, 23-0) by fall over Milo at 0:46.  Milo won the next match against Jordan Aguliar (Thornton,  3-3) by medical forfeit, and then was defeated in Consolation Round 2 by Andrew Hufford (Northglenn, 20-7) by fall over Milo Mowen (Boulder) 4-8 (Fall 0:18)

132 lbs: Teagon Sloan
Freshman Teagon Sloan was defeated by fall by Jonah Young (Horizon, 11-12)  and then in Consolation Round 1 by  Will Murray (Niwot 1-2). 

138 lbs: Beau Pryon
Freshman Beau Pryon was defeated (16-0) by Bobby Mitchell (Horizon, 22-4),  He won against Grady Pickering with a pin in 1:51, but then was defeated by Reno Digejualdo (Frederick, 11-6) in a technical fall.
 
144 lbs: Isaac Wing
Junior Isaac Wing placed 3rd in his weight class.  He started strong against Eli Kitchner (Conifer, 9-10) with a pin at 1:09.  He then defeated Malachi Arnds-volcin (Vista Ridge, 7-3) by decision (9-5).  He lost to Ryder Evans (Niwot, 14-4) won by tech fall, but then came back to win the next two matches with a pin over Carter Gillespie (Resurrection Christian, 11-6) at 2:14 and by injury default over Malachi Arnds-volcin (Vista Ridge, 7-3).

150 lbs:  Clay Gilreath
Junior Clay Gilreath was defeated in Championship. Round 1 by Ricardo Moreno (Frederick, 10-9) by fall at 1:05.  He lost by decision to Adam Rackley (Conifer, 8-10) in Consolation Round 1.

157 lbs: Johanan Ramirez 
Senior Johanan Ramirez won by decision over Gibson Even (Silver Creek High School, 10-7), then was defeated with a technical fall by Tyler Muir (Erie, 16-6).  He came back to defeat Ethan Appenfeller (Liberty, 5-13) with a pin at 0:46.

190 lbs: Lucas Edwards
Senior Lucas Edwards showcased a mix of offensive strength and resilience. He lost his first match to Anthony Martinez (Northglenn, 10-4), then won the next two against Aaron Hagaman (Holy Family, 6-4) with a technical fall (15-0), and by a medical forfeit against  Ethan Carter (Resurrection Christian, 5-1).  He was defeated in Consolation Round 3 by Briceson Bjork (Vista Ridge, 12-7).

215 lbs: Luca Molina
Senior Luca Molina was defeated by Camden Austin (Holy Family, 21-3), but then came back and won with a pin at 2:55 over  Kaiden Ball (Horizon, 0-2).  He lost the next match against Hunter Shipp (Palisade, 12-10).

Looking Ahead
The Panthers return to competition on Thursday, January 9, with a dual match against Longmont High School at 6:00 PM. This will be another opportunity for Boulder wrestlers to build on their recent success and refine their skills as the season progresses.
