Boulder High's boys soccer team wrapped up their final scrimmage last night with an impressive 3-0 win over Northfield at Recht Field. After a scoreless first half that had Boulder getting the better of the play, the Panthers broke through in the second with goals from Grant Sims in the 52nd minute slotting his shot far post. Connor Sims added a header off a free kick in the 64th, and Xander Sevian added an insurance goal in the 70th on a penalty.
This win is especially noteworthy considering Northfield's incredible record of 56-2-1 in their last 59 games. They hadn't conceded more than two goals in any match during that stretch and hadn't been shut out since October 2022.
It was a perfect night for soccer in Boulder, and the home crowd was treated to a quality performance by their team. Boulder now heads into their first regular season game on August 27, where they'll travel to Heritage High School. Kickoff is 6:45 PM.
