Boulder High Girls Swimming Ready to Dive into Winter Sports Season

Senior Sloan Zallen

The Boulder High Panthers girls swimming team is set to open the 2024-25 winter sports season this Thursday at 4:30 PM at the North Boulder Recreation Center against Northglenn. With an undefeated dual-meet record last year (6-0 overall and 5-0 in the league), the Panthers have established themselves as a team to watch in high school swimming, and they're eager to build on that momentum this season.

A Look Back at Last Season

Last year, the team dominated its competition, finishing first in all six of their regular dual meets. Highlights from last year include an impressive 241-29 victory over Northglenn and a narrow but thrilling 148-143 win against Niwot. They also claimed fifth place out of 13 teams at the Boulder County Invite, showcasing their ability to compete with some of the best teams in the region. Their strong season was capped off by a second-place finish at a highly competitive double dual meet in Brighton.

What to Expect This Season

With many returning athletes and new talent joining the roster, the Panthers are poised to make waves once again. Their schedule features high-profile events such as the Boulder County Invite and the CHSAA Class 5A State Championships, ensuring ample opportunities for swimmers to shine on the big stage.

Thursday's meet against Northglenn serves as an exciting kickoff to the season. The Panthers will aim to replicate last year's dominant performance against this opponent, setting the tone for another successful campaign.
